Governor Abba Yusuf has approved a N20,000 Eid-el-Kabir goodwill package for civil servants across Kano State and its 44 local government areas as part of efforts to support workers ahead of the festive season.
The approval was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday by Musa Tanko-Muhammad, Press Secretary to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government.
According to the statement, the gesture is intended to ease the financial burden on workers as Muslims prepare to celebrate Eid-el-Kabir.
The intervention will benefit civil servants on Grade Levels 01 to 14 in state ministries, departments, agencies, and local government councils across the state.
The development comes shortly after the payment of May salaries to workers in the state and local government service.
Governor Yusuf said the initiative reflects his administration’s commitment to the welfare and wellbeing of workers, whom he described as the backbone of the state’s public service.

He noted that the decision was informed by prevailing economic realities and the increased financial demands often associated with festive periods.
According to the governor, the support package is expected to help workers celebrate the Sallah season with greater comfort and renewed hope alongside their families.
The governor also reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to continue implementing people-oriented policies aimed at improving workers’ welfare, enhancing productivity, and sustaining an efficient public service system in the state.
He further extended Eid-el-Kabir greetings to civil servants and residents of Kano State, while praying for peace, unity, and prosperity in the state and across Nigeria.
