Kano Gov Sacks Two Senior Aides Over Misconduct Allegations

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has dismissed two Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) from his administration following their indictment in separate cases of misconduct uncovered by investigative committees.

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Umar Farouk, confirmed the development in a statement on Sunday, explaining that one aide was removed for playing a key role in securing the controversial bail of suspected drug baron Sulaiman Aminu Danwawu. The other was sacked for involvement in the diversion of palliative grains intended for vulnerable residents of the state.

In the same statement, the government announced that Musa Ado Tsamiya, Special Adviser on Drainage, had been cleared of all allegations against him by an investigative panel, affirming his innocence.

Governor Yusuf reiterated his administration’s commitment to discipline, transparency, and zero tolerance for corruption, warning all public officials to uphold the highest standards of integrity both in their official and private conduct.

“The general public are advised not to engage the two sacked political appointees on any matter related to the Kano State Government. Anyone who does so does it at their own risk,” the statement cautioned.

This development follows the resignation of the State Commissioner for Transportation, Ibrahim Namadi, earlier last week after being indicted in the same controversial bail case involving Danwawu.

Governor Yusuf’s latest action underscores his administration’s stance on accountability and its resolve to rid public service of corruption and abuse of office.
