Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf made a significant visit to the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, at the Office of the National Security Adviser in Abuja on Thursday.
The meeting, lasting over an hour, was a response to recent developments in Kano, particularly the dissolution and subsequent restoration of emirates.
According to a statement by the governor’s Spokesperson, Sanusi Bature, the discussions revolved around matters concerning state and national development, as well as the need for peaceful coexistence in the nation.
Governor Yusuf emphasized the critical role of the National Security Adviser in ensuring harmony within the country.
He provided insights into the recent events in Kano, underscoring the importance of cooperation and dialogue.
The timing of the meeting coincided with Emir Sanusi II continued stay at the Kano palace, where district heads and kingmakers have reaffirmed their allegiance to him.
This reaffirmation marks a significant development amidst the ongoing emirate dispute.
Previously, the National Security Adviser was implicated in the Kano crisis, with accusations suggesting involvement in military presence decisions. However, these allegations were swiftly refuted by the Office of the NSA.
In a notable turn of events, Kano State Deputy Governor, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, issued an apology to the NSA, acknowledging flawed intelligence as the cause of the earlier accusations.
This gesture reflects a commitment to transparency and cooperation in resolving the emirate dispute.
