Kano Governor Yusuf Mourns Passing Of Emir Of Rano’s Mother

The Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Maimuna Umar, mother of the Emir of Rano.

The condolence was conveyed in a statement released on Monday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Dawakin-Tofa.

“Governor Yusuf has extended his heartfelt condolences to the Rano Emirate over the passing of the Emir’s mother, Hajiya Maimuna Isah Umar,” the statement said.

Maimuna Umar died at the age of 95, leaving behind a life devoted to faith, family, and service to humanity. Governor Yusuf described her death as a great loss, not only to the Rano Emirate but also to Kano State.

He noted that the deceased lived an exemplary life marked by humility, wisdom, and dedication to Islamic values.

The governor extended his sympathies to the Emir of Rano, the entire royal family, and the people of the emirate, praying that Almighty Allah forgive her shortcomings and grant her Aljannatul Firdaus.

Yusuf also prayed for the family to be granted strength and fortitude to bear the loss, and he encouraged the faithful to remember the deceased in their prayers during this time of grief.

The funeral prayer (Jana’iza) is scheduled to take place after 2:00 p.m. on Monday.
