American rapper, songwriter, music producer and fashion guru, Kanye West is now the richest black man in the United States.
Bloomberg reports that Kanye officially worth $6.6 billion, making him the richest black man in America’s history, amid his divorce with his soon to be ex-wife Kim.
The father of four’s sneaker and clothing line business, which is now supported by Adidas AG and Gap Inc, is valued between $3.2 billion and$4.7 billionrespectively.
According to Bloomberg, the collaboration between Yeezy and Gap – which is set to hit stores this summer is expected to worth more than $970 million.
Kanye, who won last year Grammy Award, signed a 10 year agreement to design and sell apparel under the Yeezy Gap label.
He still holds total ownership and creative power within the company.
The rapper has an additional $110 million from his extensive catalog of music and has another $1.7 billion in other assets, including his investment into Skims label, his soon to be ex-wife’s underwear brand.
Forbes named Kanye as one of the highest paid celebrities of the year in 2020.
