The Kebbi State House of Assembly has approved a bill establishing the Senior Secondary Education Board aimed at improving the administration and standards of secondary education across the state.
The legislative approval came during Tuesday’s plenary following the presentation of a detailed report by the House Committee on Basic and Secondary Education, led by Muhammad Garba Bena, who represents Danko/Wasagu East.
According to Bena, the bill had passed through its first and second readings before being forwarded to the committee for review. He added that the committee held extensive consultations with key stakeholders, including officials from the State Ministry for Basic and Secondary Education, to refine the document.
He noted that once operational, the board would be tasked with developing education policies that align with national standards, managing available resources, and advancing the welfare of students in senior secondary schools across Kebbi.
