Keyamo Praises Tinubu’s Political Mastery, Says Opposition Cannot Outsmart Him

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as exceptional political acumen, asserting that opposition parties in Nigeria are struggling to match his strategic depth.

In a post shared on his official X account on Sunday, Keyamo highlighted Tinubu’s political journey from opposition ranks to the presidency, describing it as a defining factor in his current dominance of Nigeria’s political landscape.

According to him, Tinubu’s experience as a former opposition figure, particularly during his time as the only surviving opposition governor in the South-West in 2007, has given him a unique understanding of political strategy and resistance.

“The very unique thing about President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is that he fought from the deep end of opposition to become President of Nigeria,” Keyamo stated, noting that the President has since “flipped the script” on rivals, including the Peoples Democratic Party.

Keyamo argued that many of the tactics currently employed by opposition parties are rooted in strategies originally developed or refined by Tinubu during his years outside federal power.

“Every step the opposition takes today and every strategy they adopt is from the playbook of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he said, suggesting that the President possesses an anticipatory edge over his critics.

He further described Tinubu as a political “master,” insisting that his deep understanding of opposition politics places him significantly ahead of his rivals.

“You cannot beat the master at his own game; you cannot outfox the man who taught almost all of us how to play opposition politics,” Keyamo added.

The minister’s remarks come amid ongoing political debates and realignments within Nigeria’s opposition space, as parties continue to strategise ahead of future electoral contests.

While supporters of the administration view Tinubu’s experience as a stabilising force in governance, critics argue that Nigeria’s political environment remains highly competitive, with shifting alliances capable of altering the balance of power.

Keyamo’s comments reflect growing confidence among members of the ruling establishment, even as the opposition continues to reorganise and challenge the government’s policies and performance.
