Kidnapped children of kaduna judge released after 15 days in captivity

The kidnapped children of Janet Galadima, a Judge in Kaduna State, have been released after spending about 15 days in captivity.

This development was confirmed on Tuesday by the Chairman of the Kaduna State Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Barr. Godwin Ochai.

“We thank God and everyone who stood by the family during this difficult time,” Ochai said, expressing relief and gratitude over the release.

While the Kaduna State Police Command has yet to officially comment on the release, earlier reports confirmed the tragic killing of the judge’s eldest son, 14-year-old Victor.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Kaduna Police Command, ASP Mansir Hassan, confirmed Victor’s death at the hands of the terrorists.

The terrorists initially released Judge Janet Galadima after killing her son, but continued to hold her remaining children.

Details surrounding the circumstances of the children’s release remain unclear, as family members have chosen not to disclose further information.

The community remains in mourning over Victor’s death, while simultaneously expressing relief over the safe return of the other children.

This incident underscores the ongoing security challenges in Kaduna State and the urgent need for effective measures to protect residents from such heinous acts.
