Kontagora emir, who bandits killed son three months ago, dies

The Sarkin Sudan of Kontagora, Niger State, Alhaji Saidu Umaru Namaska, is dead.

He died at the age of 84, and after spending 47 years on the throne.

According to Daily Trust, the traditional ruler died at a hospital in Abuja.

Meanwhile, the family and palace of the monarch are yet to issue an official statement regarding his passing but a source confirmed the demise of the monarch.

Recall that one of the sons of the emir was killed by bandits when the criminals attacked the deceased farm three months ago.

Prince Bashir Namaska, was killed alongside others who were working on a farm at Masuga village along  the Kontagora-Rijau Road in Niger State.
