There was pandemonium on Monday at the Kwara State Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ilorin, when a Director, Dr Khalid Ibrahim-Ndaman, was suddenly found dead in his office.
Ibrahim-Ndaman was until his death the director of veterinary in the ministry.
It was gathered that the director’s lifeless body was discovered in the office when a worker who wanted to see him went in about an hour after his arrival.
An official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said, “There was a pending official matter since Friday that the worker needed to conclude with him. The man knocked on his door, but no response.
“Having waited outside without any response, the worker went inside the office and met him resting his head on a table. He greeted him, still no response, until he moved close and touched him to realise that he was already dead.”
Press Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Yusuf Ganiyu, could not be reached, as he did not pick his calls.
State Police Public Relations Officer, Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed the incident.
He said, “I am aware of the incident. For now, it’s a case of sudden and natural death until we complete investigation. We will brief the press depending on the outcome of our findings.”
Okasanmi said that the police had removed the corpse and deposited it in a mortuary.
