Labour Leaders Meet FG Over Petrol Pricing, Economic Impact

Leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) are currently in a crucial meeting with the Federal Government to address pressing national issues, particularly the ongoing concerns surrounding petrol pricing and its economic consequences.

The meeting, which is taking place at the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, aims to find a resolution to the growing discontent over fuel costs and their broader impact on the Nigerian economy.

Key government figures in attendance include National Security Adviser (NSA) Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, Labour Minister Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, Finance Minister and Coordinating Minister of the Economy Wale Edun, Information Minister Alhaji Mohammed Idris, and Ministers of Petroleum, Heineken Lokpobiri (State) and Ekperikpe Ekpo (Gas).

Also participating in the discussions are representatives of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Limited, as the meeting seeks to address workers’ concerns and chart a path forward for economic stability.
