Lady Calls Out Nigerians for Delaying Protest Action

A Nigerian social media user has criticised citizens for failing to take direct action despite rising calls for nationwide protests.

In a viral video on Monday, the lady compared Nigeria to other countries already witnessing demonstrations, citing Ecuador as an example.

She accused Nigerians of “fixing dates” and “waiting for one person” to spearhead action instead of collectively demanding change.

Her words read:

“Ecuador have started their protest, while you cowards are fixing date and tagging VDM to push it for you. All the nations you are bigger than are already doing it. Can we stop hiding behind one person.”

The outburst comes amid mounting online discussions about planned protests over economic hardship and governance issues in Nigeria.

While some commentators on X and Facebook supported her call, others argued that spontaneous protests without proper organisation could lead to violence or government clampdowns.

Observers note that similar rants are becoming common as frustration grows over the cost of living crisis and lack of coordinated civil action.
