Lagos State Government officials have arrested a birthday celebrant, musician, and several others for obstructing traffic and causing an environmental nuisance during a birthday party held on Saturday at Raymond Njoku Road in Ikoyi.

The Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, disclosed this in a post on his X handle on Monday.

The arrested individuals include Omolara Ajetumobi (event planner), Ogundare Olubunmi (celebrant), Ayodele Busuyi (musician), Owoeye Adedayo (sound engineer), and Akinola Akinkunmi (vendor).

Wahab stated that the suspects will be prosecuted according to the state’s laws, emphasising that the Lagos State Government will not tolerate any breach of its regulations.

“The Lagos State Government reiterates that no one is above the law and will not be permitted to disregard State regulations,” he wrote.

The arrested individuals had reportedly blocked a section of Raymond Njoku Road, causing disruption and inconvenience to road users during the celebration.
