Lagos Island councillors have commended the Managing Director of Lagos Water Corporation (LWC), Engr. Mukhtaar Temitope Tijani, for improving water supply across the Lagos Island axis.
The commendation came during a courtesy visit by over 20 councillors from Lagos Island Local Government Area to the Water House on Thursday, 11th June 2026. The delegation, led by Hon. Olakunle Williams and Hon. Badru Ajibola, praised the LWC boss for delivering on his promise to restore regular water supply, particularly the Sunday distribution initiative that has brought relief to residents and businesses.
Speaking on behalf of the councillors, Hon. Williams described Tijani as a result-driven administrator whose leadership has boosted confidence in the corporation’s ability to provide sustainable water services.

While appreciating the progress recorded, the councillors expressed hope for the commencement of the proposed Thursday water supply schedule and appealed for community involvement in future recruitment exercises.

Engr. Tijani thanked the delegation for the recognition, attributing the achievements to the support of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the collective efforts of the corporation’s management team.

He assured residents that work is ongoing to address operational challenges affecting the Thursday water distribution plan and reaffirmed the corporation’s commitment to improving water supply across Lagos Island and other parts of the state.
The visit ended with renewed commitments by both parties to strengthen collaboration towards ensuring reliable and sustainable water supply for Lagosians.
