The Lagos Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has announced the formation of an independent panel to look into the fire disaster that struck AfriLand Towers on Broad Street, Lagos, on September 16, 2025.
The inferno, which resulted in multiple fatalities, also claimed the life of Mrs Ndidi Osaemedike-Okeke, a member of the association.
In a statement released on Wednesday, September 24, and signed by the Branch Chairman, Mrs Uchenna Ogunedo-Akingbade, the NBA said the initiative aligns with its commitment to uphold justice and protect fundamental human rights.
