As part of preparations for the 2025 Christian pilgrimage, the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board (CPWB) has officially launched its annual sensitisation campaign, targeting grassroots engagement across the state.
According to a statement published Tuesday on the Lagos State Government’s official website, the Board has commenced strategic outreach visits to various local council authorities. The initiative, led by the Board Secretary, Dr. Gbolabo Okudero, saw CPWB officials visiting Mushin Local Government, as well as the Isolo and Ejigbo Local Council Development Areas.
In Mushin, the delegation was received by the Executive Chairman, Honourable Emmanuel Olanrewaju Bamgboye, while at Isolo and Ejigbo, the Council Managers—Mrs. M.F. Ogabi and Dr. Olusegun Ajaguna—stood in for their respective chairmen, Otunba Adebayo Olasoju and Honourable Monsurudeen Oloyede Bello.

During the visits, Dr. Okudero underscored the need for local governments to view governance through a broader lens—one that encompasses not just economic development, but also the spiritual welfare of the people. “Spiritual well-being is vital to building a complete individual and a morally upright society,” he stated, calling for deeper collaboration between the Board and community leaders to promote pilgrimage participation.
He also outlined the Board’s strategic direction for the 2025 pilgrimage, noting that early engagement is key to ensuring inclusivity and awareness among intending pilgrims across the state.
This sensitisation effort marks the opening phase of CPWB’s mobilisation drive for the year’s religious exercise, reflecting its enduring commitment to fostering spiritual enrichment and moral values through pilgrimage activities in Lagos State.
