The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a suspected traffic robber linked to the theft of human hair worth an estimated ₦20 million from a moving truck along the CMS-Marina Bridge.
In a statement released on Thursday, the Command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said the suspect was apprehended on April 25, 2025, following a swift police response to a tip-off. The arrest was made by detectives from the Ebute-Ero Division, who tracked the suspect to Marina’s car park, where he was found in possession of a large sack filled with assorted human hair.
According to the police, the suspect—who was reportedly injured after jumping off the bridge in an attempt to evade arrest—was given immediate medical attention and is currently under close police supervision at an undisclosed hospital.
“On April 25, 2025, a criminal gang stole a large sack filled with assorted human hairs valued at approximately ₦20 million from a moving truck, unknown to the driver, while in transit along the CMS-Marina Bridge,” Hundeyin stated.

He further noted that investigations are ongoing and that a manhunt has been launched to track down the remaining members of the robbery syndicate.
The incident sheds light on the increasingly sophisticated operations of traffic robbers in Lagos, who often target goods in transit—especially during early morning or late-night hours when bridges and expressways experience reduced surveillance.
The Lagos Police Command has urged transporters and motorists to remain vigilant, particularly when navigating high-risk routes, and called on the public to continue sharing timely intelligence to assist in combating criminal activities across the state.
