Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has met with top security commanders in the state to assess ongoing operations and strengthen security arrangements ahead of increased activities expected across Lagos in the coming months.
The meeting, held on Tuesday at the State House, Marina, focused on reviewing the state’s security situation and measures to reinforce its security architecture as Lagos prepares for an influx of visitors, end-of-year celebrations and heightened political activities.
Sanwo-Olu assured residents that his administration would continue to take steps to prevent crime and safeguard lives and property throughout the state.
Sanwo-Olu said, “We will not relent on our efforts to ensure that criminals don’t find a place for their evil activities in our state.”
The meeting was held as Lagos prepared to receive President Bola Tinubu from Tuesday, with a number of religious, cultural and social events also expected to take place during the festive season.

The state government said political activities had also begun to gather momentum following the Independent National Electoral Commission’s announcement on the commencement of campaigns.
The meeting was attended by the Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai; Commander, 9 Brigade, Ikeja, Brig. Gen. A.O. Owolabi; Commander, Nigerian Navy Ship Beecroft, Commodore A. Adams-Aliu; and Commander, 651 Base Services Group, Ikeja, Air Commodore M.A. Imam.
Also present was the Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, Ayodele Ogunsan.
The governor’s Chief of Staff, Tayo Ayinde; Secretary to the State Government, Abimbola Salu-Hundeyin; and Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Lawal Pedro, were among other government officials at the meeting.
Sanwo-Olu reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to continued collaboration with security agencies to ensure a safe and secure environment for residents and visitors.
