Prof Mojeed Liasu has been appointed as the Acting Vice-Chancellor of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
He was appointed in replacement of the embattled former VC, Professor Ologunde, who has been asked to step aside for proper investigation to be carried on various allegations levelled against him.
The appointment of Prof. Liasu, as contained in a decision extract from the 138th and inaugural meeting of the newly constituted Governing Council and signed by the registrar, Dr. K. A. Ogunleye takes immediate effect.
Prof. Liasu, until his appointment was the deputy VC of the institution.
The acting VC is a professor of Plant Physiology Department of Pure and Applied Biology in LAUTECH.
Recall that Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, last Friday directed that Prof Ologunde step aside as VC until further notice. The decision was communicated in a letter through the Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Barr. Olasunkanmi Olaleye.
The VC was also directed to hand over forthwith to the next principal officer in rank in order to ensure uninterrupted flow of normal activities of the institution.
