Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has sounded a note of warning to youths in the state to eschew behaviours capable of causing violence in the forthcoming November 16 Local Government Election in the state.
Abiodun, who disclosed this on Saturday at the 2024 Odun Omo Olowu, at Ori-Omi in Abeokuta, the state capital, urged them to shun behavioural activities that could lead to chaos during the council polls.
“As we prepare for LG elections I want to urge all Ogun State indigene to support our government in promoting peace and development. I want to encourage the youth to steer clear of distractive behaviors especially during this electioneering period.” he said
Abiodun had on Friday asked for the support of the residents of the state to vote for the All Progressive Congress(APC) during a meeting with the 20 chairmanship, 20 vice-chairmanship, 236 councilorship candidates and the 20 local government party chairmen of the ruling party.
He boasted that APC remains the party to beat in the November 16 council election while urging the party’s candidate to go all out and ensure massive victory for the party.
The governor said that his administration had brought infrastructure and good government closer to the people, expressing confidence that the party will win the chairmanship and councillorship posts in all the 20 local governments in the state.
