The Janaza (Islamic funeral) prayer for Sina Ghami and Abdul Latif “Latz” Ayodele, close friends and key members of Anthony Joshua’s inner team, will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2026, in London, following their tragic deaths in a road accident in Nigeria.
A statement released on Saturday by Boxing King Media confirmed that the prayer will take place at 10:00 a.m. at the London Central Mosque, located at 146 Park Road, Lomdon NW8 7RG. The bodies of both men were repatriated to the United Kingdom after the fatal crash.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with their families and loved ones,” the statement read, as tributes continue to pour in from across the boxing world.
Ghami, Anthony Joshua’s long-time strength and conditioning coach, and Ayodele, his personal trainer, died on December 29, 2025, following a road traffic accident along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway in Makun, Ogun State. The Lexus SUV conveying the group reportedly collided with a stationary truck.
Joshua, a former unified heavyweight world champion, was also involved in the crash but escaped with minor injuries, according to earlier reports.
The deaths of Ghami and Ayodele sent shockwaves through the global boxing community, where both men were widely regarded as instrumental to Joshua’s physical preparation, discipline, and professional success. Beyond their technical roles, they were described as trusted confidants and close friends.
