LPPC Confers SAN Rank On 68 Lawyers, One Academic

The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC) has elevated 68 legal practitioners to the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), alongside one academic, in recognition of their contributions to the legal profession.

The decision was taken during the committee’s 174th plenary session held on Thursday in Abuja and chaired by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun.

The announcement was made in a statement issued by the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and Secretary of the LPPC, Kabir Akan.

According to the committee, the newly elevated Senior Advocates were selected and listed in accordance with their seniority at the Nigerian Bar.

Under the academic category, Professor Nnamdi Onyeka Obiaraeri was also elevated to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria.

The SAN title is Nigeria’s highest professional distinction for legal practitioners and is conferred on lawyers who have demonstrated exceptional excellence, integrity and outstanding contributions to legal practice or legal scholarship.

The elevation marks another milestone in the legal profession, with the successful candidates joining the exclusive body of Senior Advocates of Nigeria recognised for their distinguished service to the administration of justice.
