President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the suspension of 12 directors of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
EFCC Secretary, Olanipekun Olukoyede, is also affected by the President’s order.
It was learnt that Buhari handed down the order on Friday following a request by the Presidential Panel investigating the allegations of graft and misconduct against the former EFCC acting Chairman, Ibrahim Magu.
The directors, it was learnt, were directed by the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), to proceed on suspension on Tuesday, in compliance with the presidential order.
First News learnt that the suspension of the EFCC officials was to enable the panel to do a thorough investigation into the activities of the anti-graft agency.
