A man, identified as Jeremiah Nwoke, is said to have died while trying to steal the Agemo statue located at the Itoro Roundabout in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.
The incident, which happened early hours of Saturday, has left residents in shock.

Reports indicate that the deceased reportedly made multiple unsuccessful attempts to uproot and steal the symbolic statue that stands close to the roundabout leading to the modern palace of the Awujale of Ijebuland
However, the deceased succeeded in moving the heavily padded statue, but tragically died in the process of carting it away.
