There was palpable fear in Gamatab village of Miga Local Government area of Jigawa as a 25-year-old man, Danjuma Haruna, allegedly killed his brother’s wife after a minor quarrel.
Spokesman for the Jigawa State Police Command, Lawan Shiisu Adam, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, confirmed the incident to First News on Thursday.
Adam, however, stated that the incident took place in their compound in Gamata village on Tuesday, after the duo engaged in bitter confrontation.
He further revealed that the misunderstanding led to physical combat, adding that the suspect allegedly used his leg to hit his brother’s wife in the stomach.
” The victim, Zuwaira Bala, was rushed to the hospital for treatment where she was confirmed dead by medics.
“The suspect was, however, nabbed at Hadejia in an attempt to flee.
“The Jigawa State Police Commissioner, has, however, directed the case to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for discrete investigation.
