Some masquerades, on Sunday, invaded a church (name withheld) in Shikal village of Langtang South Local Government Area of Plateau State, flogging worshipers and the presiding Pastor.
The masquerades were also said to have gone ahead to destroy the Church’s musical instruments.
The masquerades were said to have stormed the Church during service.
A witness said the church members were caught unawares by the action of the masquerades.
The church members were said to have retrained from retaliating, but only attempted to salvage what was left of their vandalised properties.
However, elders of the village were said to have intervened to restore normalcy. They were also said to have initiated moves to get to the root of the matter.
Officials of the church and Christian Association of Nigeria in the local government area have yet to issue any reaction to the incident.
