Fátima Bosch Fernández of Mexico has claimed the Miss Universe 2025 crown, a victory that has drawn global attention and reinforced her image as a resilient and determined contender.
The competition concluded at the Impact Challenger Hall in Pak Kret, Nonthaburi, near Bangkok, Thailand, where Bosch received the crown from outgoing Miss Universe Victoria Kjær Theilvig of Denmark on Friday, November 21, 2025.
Bosch’s journey to the title unfolded under intense scrutiny. Weeks before the finals, she was publicly criticized by Miss Universe Thailand director Nawat Itsaragrisil, who reportedly called her a “dumbhead” over claims she was not posting enough promotional content.
The 25-year-old walked out of the tense exchange, joined by several contestants, including Theilvig, in a moment that quickly became a symbol of self-respect and solidarity within the pageant community.
The Miss Universe Organization later condemned the incident, stressing that respect and professionalism remain core expectations for everyone associated with the competition.
Bosch, a fashion design graduate and advocate for sustainable fashion, has also spoken openly about living with dyslexia and ADHD, framing her experiences as a source of strength rather than limitation.
This year’s competition featured strong performances across the board.
Thailand’s 29-year-old Praveenar Singh finished as first runner-up, while 25-year-old Stephany Adriana Abasali Nasser of Venezuela placed third.

Rounding out the top five were Ahtisa Manalo, 28, of the Philippines, and Olivia Yacé, 27, of Ivory Coast, according to The Associated Press.
