Satigal village in Bunkure Local Government Area of Kano State was engulfed by a fierce midnight fire that destroyed several homes, livestock, and six grain silos.
According to Rano Rabi’u Kura, the Zonal Information Officer, the blaze broke out late at night, prompting residents to fight desperately against the spreading flames.
Their swift intervention helped save lives and prevent further destruction.
The incident was formally reported to the Emir of Rano, Dr. Muhammad Isa Umaru, at his palace.
The village head of Satigal, accompanied by other affected residents, briefed the emir on the scale of the disaster.
He disclosed that six households were reduced to ashes, along with vital supplies including stored grains, livestock, and personal property valued at millions of naira.

The fire was traced to an unattended cooking fire left burning by one of the affected families.
While no lives were lost, the damage was extensive.
In a gesture of compassion, the Emir of Rano donated N200,000 to assist the victims in rebuilding their lives and recovering from the tragedy.
