Members of a child right group, Advocates for Children and Vulnerable Persons Network have called on Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Lagos State Commissioner of Police Hakeem Odumosu to ensure justice for an 11-year-old, Tolu, who was tortured with a hot iron in Lagos.
FirstNews gathered that the victim was tortured by his mistress daughter, Funmi and friend who are said to be students at a military school.
Members of the right group, who visited the victim’s resident in Mushin, Lagos, gathered that the minor had been taken to his family house in Ikorodu after the incident.
It was gathered that Funmi and friend resolved to torture the minor with the hot iron over a missing phone.
A source revealed that “Funmi, a military student, carried out the torture with her colleagues,” adding that “she brought her friends to her home and then tied the boy, and used hot iron on him.
“The boy was accused of stealing an Android phone, but he repeatedly denied it. He said he did not see any phone let alone to have even stolen it but they did not believe him”.
According to sympathisers, when the number of the phone was dialled, it rang but was not with the boy. They said that Funmi and her friend, after hurting the boy released him to his mother.
The boy was taken to General Hospital, Mushin but quickly discharged on Sunday for reasons yet unknown, it was learnt.
