Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has been crowned the Best Premier League Player of the Year 2025 by The Athletic, following a sensational season in which he led the league in both goals and assists.
The Egyptian star finished the 2024/25 campaign with 28 goals and 18 assists, topping the Premier League scoring chart and playing a crucial role in Liverpool’s title triumph.
Salah beat off stiff competition from Erling Haaland (Manchester City), Alexander Isak (Newcastle United), Chris Wood (Nottingham Forest), and Bryan Mbeumo (Brentford) to claim the prestigious individual honour.
In its announcement, The Athletic praised Salah’s “elite consistency, match-winning performances, and leadership,” noting that his contributions went beyond numbers as he continued to deliver at the highest level in one of the most competitive leagues in the world.
