Monalisa Stephen to Be Laid to Rest Thursday

The family of late actress and social media influencer Monalisa Ayobami Stephen has announced funeral arrangements following her untimely death last week in Lagos.

In an official statement shared via Monalisa’s verified Instagram account on Tuesday, the family revealed that a private interment will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, with the final rites scheduled to begin at noon.

The 32-year-old influencer and body positivity advocate reportedly passed away on Tuesday, May 13, after complications believed to be linked to low blood sugar and internal bleeding. Her passing was first made public by Seun Oloketuyi, founder of the Best of Nollywood Awards, in a post on social media.

While the full circumstances surrounding her death remain undisclosed, Monalisa’s sudden passing has triggered an outpouring of grief across Nigeria’s entertainment and online communities. She had previously spoken candidly about her battles with depression and mental health struggles, using her platform to advocate for self-love and emotional well-being.
