Broadcast journalist Morayo Afolabi-Brown has admitted that her past criticism of Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi was made without a proper understanding of his record in office.
In an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, the former Your View host said she realised only later that her views about Obi, who governed Anambra State between 2006 and 2014, were based on limited information.
“It was because I did not know him. After I made that comment, people called me and said, ‘Morayo, do you realise that when he was governor, he actually served us?’ I said, ‘Oh, I did not know,’” she explained.

Afolabi-Brown, who left Your View earlier this month after 12 years, said the feedback made her reassess earlier positions she had expressed during heated political debates, particularly in the build-up to the 2023 general elections.
Her admission has drawn attention online, with many Nigerians commending her for acknowledging past misjudgments and reassessing her stance on one of the country’s most debated political figures.
