NAF Airstrikes Kill Several Terrorists, Foil Attack on Troops in Borno

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has successfully repelled a terrorist ambush targeting ground troops in Rann, a border town in Borno State, during an operation under the ongoing military campaign, Operation Hadin Kai.

In a statement issued on Friday, August 8, NAF spokesperson, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, confirmed that the threat was neutralised through a combination of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) operations and precise airstrikes carried out early Friday morning.

Ejodame said the air team, acting on reliable intelligence, coordinated with ground forces, tracked insurgents attempting to escape, and targeted them using guided munitions, killing several in the process.

“The swift and decisive action restored calm to the area, underscoring the NAF’s unwavering commitment to providing close air support, safeguarding troops, and rapidly neutralising insurgent threats,” Ejodame stated.

This operation comes just three days after another successful airstrike was carried out at Asaula Hills in Zamfara State, where armed bandits had assembled for a wedding ceremony.
