The operation involves several techniques, including hydrographic surveys, satellite-based search-and-rescue imagery, mud excavation and water pumping to reach areas identified for investigation.

According to the NAF, personnel are conducting the exercise round the clock to recover materials that could assist investigators in establishing the circumstances surrounding the crash.

“Additional aircraft components have been recovered as efforts continue to locate and retrieve relevant materials for documentation and preservation in support of the ongoing investigation,” the statement said.

The recovery exercise is being conducted jointly by the Air Force, Navy and NSIB, with teams focusing on underwater locations and other difficult-to-reach sections of the crash site.

The recovered materials are expected to be documented and preserved as part of the ongoing investigation into the accident.
