Suspended Senator for Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has announced her return to the National Assembly, stating she will be back in the Senate on the 8th of July, 2025.
She shared the news while addressing a crowd of cheering supporters in a widely circulated video online.
The senator acknowledged their loyalty and encouragement throughout her suspension.
“I thank you for your support. I am glad we are victorious today. We shall resume in the Senate on Tuesday by the grace of God,” she said.
Her reinstatement follows a ruling by the Federal High Court in Abuja last Friday, the 5th of July, 2025, which declared her six-month suspension from the Senate was excessive, unconstitutional, and deprived her constituents of proper representation.

Justice Binta Nyako, who delivered the judgment, ordered the Senate to immediately reinstate her.
The judge also noted that a social media post by Natasha, which carried a satirical apology to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, violated an interim court order issued on the 4th of March, 2025.
That order had restrained all parties from making public comments or social media posts related to the ongoing legal matter.
