NDA Cautions Kaduna Communities Ahead Cadets’ Shooting Exercise

The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna, has advised residents of Afaka, Kauya, Mando, and surrounding communities to keep away from its open range as it conducts a shooting exercise from Tuesday, October 28, to November 7, 2025.

This was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the NDA Public Relations Officer, Major Mohammed Maidawa.

According to the statement, the exercise, tagged “Range Management Package Shooting Exercise,” is part of the training activities for cadets of the 73 Regular Course (Army).

“The NDA wishes to inform the general public, especially inhabitants of Mando, Tsamiya, Kauya, and Afaka general area, that it will be conducting a Range Management Package Shooting Exercise for cadets of the 73 Regular Course (Army),” Maidawa said.

He explained that the exercise would take place at the NDA Open Range in Afaka and assured residents that all necessary safety measures had been put in place to ensure a smooth and secure operation.

“The NDA assures the general public that all necessary safety measures have been put in place for the successful conduct of the exercise. Please accept the highest consideration and esteemed regards of the Commandant NDA, Maj.-Gen. Abdul Ibrahim,” the statement added.

The academy urged residents to comply with the advisory and avoid the range area throughout the exercise period for their safety.
