Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency have arrested several suspected drug traffickers and seized large quantities of narcotics in coordinated operations across Nigeria.
In Lagos, the agency arrested Kolapo Raji, 57, a real estate developer and Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Trans Fortress Global Resources, at his residence in Ikate, Lekki, on Thursday, February 12, 2026. Raji had been on the NDLEA’s watchlist since 2025 and was apprehended after returning from the United Kingdom.
A search of his residence yielded 89.20 kilograms of Canadian Loud, a strong strain of cannabis, as well as a 2024 Toyota Hilux vehicle. The agency said Raji admitted to financing drug consignments for an overseas associate before establishing his own distribution network.
In Kano, NDLEA operatives at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport intercepted a 41-year-old Ivorian, Michael Gohouri, also known as Anunwa Michael, during outward clearance for an Ethiopian Airlines flight to Milan via Addis Ababa. A body scan confirmed ingestion of illicit drugs, and he later excreted 82 wraps of cocaine weighing 1.49 kilograms. He was reportedly to be paid €5,000 upon delivery of the consignment in Milan.

Other arrests and seizures reported by NDLEA include:
• Ugwuja Kingsley, 56 kilograms of skunk, Agbara, February 19, 2026
• Ekwe Arinze, 76 kilograms of skunk, Oshodi motor park, February 17
• 170,900 bottles of codeine-based syrup discovered at Port Harcourt Ports Complex, Onne, Rivers State
• 7,300 pills of tramadol 225mg recovered in two sound systems on a commuter bus along Okene–Lokoja highway, Kogi State, February 15
• Bright Timothy, 195 kilograms of skunk, Iju forest, Ondo State
• Godwin Bernard, 198 kilograms of skunk, Ondo State forest raids
• Yahaya Adamu Gimba, 936 kilograms of skunk, Azare town, Bauchi State, plus an additional 85.8 kilograms from Gimba and three others
• Mgbeme Ejeoma, 37 kilograms of skunk, Ughelli, Delta State
• NDLEA destroyed 1,266.8475 kilograms of skunk on three farms in Owan West LGA, Edo State, with arrests including a 68-year-old woman, Evelyn Ogenewu, and Friday Iruoje, 43
The NDLEA said the operations are part of intensified nationwide efforts to dismantle drug trafficking syndicates, including the use of real estate businesses, airports, land borders, highways, and seaports for storage and distribution of illicit substances.
