The new Honourable Federal Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer of the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), Alhaji Aliyu Ahmed Tijjani has officially assumed the leadership of the commission.
He thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for finding him worthy for the appointment, pledging to quickly settle down, deliver on the core mandate of the Commission.
He also thanked Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State for his support.
Alhaji Aliyu Ahmed Tijjani , who is the former Secretary to Nasarawa State Government, also disclosed his five-point agenda.
They are: “1 Reinvigorate strategic partnership and collaboration with the development partners. 2 Effective policies formulation and implementation. 3 Welfare of staff. 4 Rehabilitation of Concern persons and 5 protecting and projecting the good image of the commission.”
“I plan to make things happen and express confidence on the ability of management and staff of the commission to work together in synergy.” He said.
The new DG was accompanied by his wife and enthusiasts from his state, they include former Commissioners for Justice Barr Tanimu Adabson, Barr Musa Hussaini, SSA Nasarawa state Liaison Office Abuja, Hon Yusuf Jibrin Maiangwa, Chairman NASIEC, Barr Ayuba Wandai Usman , Chairman of Nasarawa LGA Muhammad Otto amongst others.
Earlier in his remarks, the Director Human Resource of the Commission, Alhaji Muhammad Abdullahi Bello who handed the mantle of leadership to the new DG, confessed that he was intimidated by the credentials of Aliyu Tijjani and stressed that he is the right man for the job.
In a good will message former Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice Barr Tanimu Adabson assured the staff of the commission that is time to do it right because the right man has taken charge.
It could be recalled that, the new DG, was a secretary, later elected Chairman of Nasarawa LGA, former Commissioner and former SSG Nasarawa state.
