New NSCDC Commandant assumes office in Oyo

SOJI AJIBOLA, Ibadan

Newly posted Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Mr. Adaralewa Michael Akintayo has assumed office in Oyo State.

He takes over from Commandant Iskilu Abiodun Akinsanya who was redeployed to Delta State Command.

Commandant Akinsanya in his farewell speech, expressed his appreciation to the government and good people of Oyo State for the encouragement given to him and appealed to them to extend the same hand of fellowship to his successor.

In his maiden address, the new commandant said his deployment to Oyo State was to build on the already good foundation laid by the immediate past Commander Akinsanya.

He enjoined the officers to be disciplined and dedicated to duty, especially in their commitment towards ridding the state of all forms of criminality to engender peace and tranquility.

Commandant Adaralewa, while sending a note of warning to criminal elements in the state to vacate Oyo State, sought the support of all stakeholders in the state to enable him succeed like Commandant Akinsanya.

Commandant Adaralewa was formerly Commandant Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear Department at the National Headquarters before his redeployment to Oyo Command.

He is an educator in CBRNE Emergency Response, detection and response, providing training and motivation for front-line officers.
