The senator representing Osun East Senatorial District, Senator Francis Fadahunsi, has expressed confidence that Nigeria will surmount its current security challenges through the sustained commitment of the military and other security agencies.
Fadahunsi gave the assurance on Thursday, the 8th of January, 2026, in Ilase during the flag-off ceremony for the distribution of food items and cash assistance to residents across the district.
The intervention, which covered the 10 local government areas in Osun East Senatorial District, saw the distribution of about 20,000 bags of rice, alongside financial support to individuals and groups.
According to the senator, the Federal Government has continued to roll out measures aimed at tackling violent crimes and restoring peace in affected parts of the country.
He stressed that success in addressing insecurity depends largely on collective effort, noting that “the fight against insurgency and other forms of insecurity would be won with the cooperation and support of all stakeholders.
“I assure Nigerians that the menace of insecurity will soon become a thing of the past.
“This will happen owing to the ongoing efforts of the military and other security agencies.”
Fadahunsi observed that insecurity has negatively impacted food production nationwide, worsening economic hardship for many citizens.
He said the rice distribution exercise was designed to cushion the effects of food shortages on his constituents as security operations continue.
“While expecting victory over the perpetrators of violent crimes, there is a need for governments at all levels to intensify humanitarian support to mitigate the economic hardship caused by food insecurity,” he added.
The senator recalled that he has consistently raised concerns about insecurity in the country, advocating practical solutions and stronger action by relevant authorities.
