The Nigerian Army has on Tuesday, announced the commencement of applications for the Short Service Combatant Commission (SSCC) Course 50/2027.
The recruitment exercise is open to eligible Nigerians, including qualified civilians and serving military personnel who meet the stipulated requirements for consideration.
Successful applicants who complete the required training will be commissioned as SSCC officers and deployed across the Nigerian Army’s combat and combat-support arms.
The Combat Arms include the Infantry and Armour Corps, while the Combat Support Arms comprise the Artillery, Engineers, Signals and Intelligence Corps.
How to Apply
Prospective applicants have been directed to access the official Nigerian Army recruitment portal at nashortservice.army.mil.ng and select the SSCC option.
Applicants are advised to carefully read and follow all instructions provided on the portal during the application process.
The Army warned members of the public against relying on unofficial recruitment portals or announcements claiming that the exercise had commenced before the official publication.

It urged prospective applicants to obtain recruitment information only through official Nigerian Army channels.
The public was also encouraged to watch for official recruitment jingles on television and radio stations following the announcement.
The deadline for submission of applications is Saturday, October 17, 2026.
