Nigerians reacts over another alleged failed butt surgery by Dr Anu

Popular cosmetic surgeon, Doctor Anuoluwapo Adepoju, has again been called out on social media after a lady alleged she developed an infection from a surgery performed on her butt by Anu.

This is not the first time the cosmetic surgeon is reported putting the life of women on the line. One Miss Nneka Onwuzuligbo, was once referred to LUTH after she developed complications allegedly following a failed surgery by Dr Anu. She later died as a result of the complications.

Anu had then in a video that surfaced on Twitter absolved herself from the death of Onwuzuligbo, saying that LUTH should be questioned for mismanaging the deceased because she died under their watch and not complications from the surgery.

Recall that in April 2020, Omotola Taiwo Temilade, aka Omohtee had also called out Dr Anu of MedContour following a botched cosmetic surgery.

Omohtee disclosed how she contemplated suicidal following thoughts of who will marry her after a failed surgery allegedly by Anu disfigured her.

While Speaking to BBC pidgin, she narrated how she wanted to make her tummy flat and “top-up” her butt and decided to go to MedContour for Brazilian Butt Lift and Liposuction.

Anu is again being dragged on social media following a claim of a lady, who claimed that Dr Anu had given her fat necrosis. A gory pictures of what her butt currently looks like, after a surgery allegedly performed on her by Dr Anu, is circulating on social media.

Just on Monday, May 17, another lady shared her lamentation on social media, saying she is dying in Abuja after Dr Anu allegedly performed an operation on her.

She explained she had been living in New York, United States and only came to Nigeria.

Her claims read, “Dr Anu gave me an infection. Fat necrosis. I’m dying in Abuja.

“I live abroad, I live in New York. I didn’t know about Anu until I came to Nigeria. I haven’t been in Nigeria for 10 years. It was after the surgery I started hearing things about her. You don’t want to be harsh on me. I just started following of recent.”

Recall, in November 2020, the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission approved the indefinite suspension of Dr Anu upon the recommendation of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.

The commission had said, “The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission welcomes the Medical and Dental Council’s decision to impose interim measures suspending Dr Anuoluwapo Adepoju indefinitely from practising medicine pending full and final disposition of disciplinary proceedings.

“Every action whether interim or final that prevents the risk of injury to patients/consumers and or mitigates the pain and suffering of citizens on account of injury by manufacturers or service providers is an important component of a larger effort to protect citizens.

“The commission further stated that it finds MDCN actions on the doctor commendable and noted that the suspension would persist pending the full disposition of disciplinary proceedings.”

The photos of the failed surgery which circulated on social media on Monday saw some Nigerians react to the recurrence of Dr Anu perceived incompetence.

Below are some of the reactions:

@aproko_doctor “First, putting fat in your buttocks is a risky surgery even when it’s done by professionals plastic surgeons

Not to talk of quacks like Dr Anu,

To know if the doctor  you’re meeting is qualified, go to napras.org.ng and type the doctor’s full name and their state”

@DrOlufunmilayo “ANOTHER REMINDER: Dr Anu is NOT a surgeon.

Dr Anu is NOT licensed to do surgeries.

2019: A Beauty Queen died in Dr Anu operation theatre.

2020: Dr Anu damaged Omohtee bumbum.

2021: Dr Anu has ruined another woman’s buttocks.

Dr Anu🤝Ruining women’s lives: One bumbum at a time.”

@firstdoctor “Stop patronizing quacks. Whenever you take your breasts or buttocks to one Dr Anu who is not a plastic surgeon to add fat to it, you are putting your life at risk.

You have only one life. Stop using it to patronize quacks. Retweet.”

@maxvayshia “ Well i don’t feel sorry for victims of Dr. Anu. Her info is literally all over social media but in the spirit of “It’s not my portion” they go with “faith”, falling for the same trap while expecting a different result. You literally chose to blow up your ANUs yourself.  🤷🏾”

@FunkeOnafuye “Dr Anu has had clients whose surgeries didn’t go south so it shouldn’t surprise you that she still gets recommended. The women that want her services mostly seek advice from peers and not Google.”

@abisinuola “You left New York for Nigeria, met Dr Anu for surgery, you didn’t read for reviews or ask around. You wanted something cheap my dear, I hope you recover and get well abi you should kuku face LA and met Dr 90210.”
