Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz and son of popular human rights activist, Femi Falana, has described Nigeria as ‘shithole’.
He stated this in response to the Nigerian security operatives arrest of a popular comedian, Debo Adebayo, a.k.a. Mr Macaroni and other peaceful protesters this Saturday at Lekki toll gate.
The protesters were part of the Nigerians youths who participated in the season 2 of the #Endsars protest tagged #OccupyLekkiTollgate.
The protesters had went ahead with the protest amid threats by the Nigerian government, Lagos State government and the Nigerian Police.
Videos of some arrested protesters packed in Black Maria had been trending on social media.
In his response to the development, Falz wrote on his Twitter handle:
“What is this shameful behaviour? Are these people insane? Citizens are peacefully protesting and you are arresting (them).
“How is this supposed to solve the problems that they have already caused?
“Macaroni has been picked up, the Nigerian government basically saying they do not want peace oh I am tired of just coping. I am tired of just managing. This is a fucking shithole we are living in and we simply cannot continue like this.”
“They are using this threat of force and violence because they expect that we would naturally fear for our lives, but the life we dey live no kuku get meaning before.”

Falz was an active participant of the #EndSARS protest last year and even granted the CNN interview on what happened during the protest and Nigeria government’s poor treatment of its citizens.
