Workers of the Nigerian Postal Service, on Monday, shut down the head office of the service in Abuja to protest the appointment of Tola Odeyemi as new Chief Executive Officer/Post Master General.
Presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, had last week announced that President Bola Tinubu made some changes in the leadership of communication agencies, including NIPOST.
But moments after the news of Odeyemi’s appointment broke, there were reports that Adeyemi Adepoju, the sacked Post Master-General had been reinstated.
Adepoju was seen in a viral video addressing some workers who claimed Tinubu had reappointed him.
But on Monday, the protesting workers stopped the newly appointed NIPOST CEO from entering the head office.
They said her appointment was against their wish.
The workers, who carried placards with various inscriptions and chanted solidarity songs, said they preferred Adepoju to continue as NIPOST CEO.
