NLC, ULC reconcile, merge

Nigeria Labour Congress, on Thursday, reconciled with the United Labour Congress led by Joe Ajaero to form a united labour movement.

Four years ago, the ULC broke away during the December 2016 delegates’ conference, which was to elect new leadership for the NLC.

NLC President, Ayuba Wabba, announced the reconciliation with ULC at the end of a joint session meeting by the two leaders of the unions on Thursday in Abuja.

Wabba said with the reconciliation, the leadership of the ULC had been re-integrated into the NLC.

He then announced Ajaero as the new NLC Deputy President.
