The Chinese Government has debunked reports claiming their government set up police stations in Nigeria and across Africa, Europe and America.
Safeguard Defenders, a human rights watchdog, in a statement which was titled, ‘110 Overseas Chinese Transnational Policing Gone Wild’, alleged the Chinese Government opened these “overseas police stations“ to track down all kinds of illegal and criminal activities involving Chinese citizens in the diaspora.
But an official of the Chinese Embassy in Abuja denied the report, saying there’s only a category of outreach service to Chinese communities.
The official said, “There is no Chinese police station in Nigeria or others. What is there, is only a category of outreach service to Chinese communities.
“China doesn’t have any intention or spare energy to run police station outside.”
