Arsenal Director, Josh Kroenke, has said that they have no intention of selling the club, adding that they believe they are fit to carry on in their position as custodians of Arsenal.
Kroenke stated this on the heels of the backlash that followed the club’s aborted attempt to join a European Super League.
At a meeting on Thursday with the club board, the director maintained that Kroenke Sports Enterprises (KSE) had no intention to sell the club adding that KSE will cover the cost of the club’s move to join a European Super League.
When asked if KSE wanted to sell, Kroenke said: “I am not willing to answer that question because we have no intention of selling.
“I believe we are fit to carry on in our position as custodians of Arsenal. We were put in a very difficult position by forces outside of the club.
“We have the same plans for summer that we had several weeks ago and I’m still excited about those.
“I might be met with mistrust and skepticism, but over time I hope to establish some sort of relationship with our supporter groups and show them we are capable of taking our club forward,” he said.
Arsenal Football Club was one of six English clubs that signed up for the Super League project before withdrawing amid a storm of protest from fans, players, and the British government alongside threats of bans and sanctions from the game’s European and world governing bodies.
