Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has declared that peace and unity remain the cornerstone achievements of his administration as he marked two years in office.
Speaking at an interdenominational thanksgiving service held on Sunday at the International Christian Worship Centre in Uyo, the governor credited the prevailing harmony in the state as the foundation for all other developmental strides.
“For me, the greatest achievement of my administration in two years is the unity and peace that we have achieved as a government,” Eno stated. “No development or progress would have happened in this state if there was no unity and peace among our people. It would have been a big distraction for us.”
The governor underscored the absence of political division, noting, “We don’t have ‘Abuja front,’ ‘Lagos front,’ or ‘Home front,’ but that unity of purpose which is a product of God’s grace through our prayers, love, and togetherness. It is that peace that is our greatest achievement. We are Akwa Ibom United.”
Governor Eno extended appreciation to past leaders for their roles in shaping the state. He lauded former Governor Obong Victor Attah for his advocacy during the onshore-offshore dichotomy debate, acknowledged the infrastructural advancements under Senator Godswill Akpabio, and recognized the economic and administrative legacy of his immediate predecessor, Deacon Udom Emmanuel.
In a strong appeal for reconciliation, the governor urged Akwa Ibomites to let go of past grievances.

“Let us forgive our past leaders for whatever errors they may have made, and also forgive one another. Let peace continue to reign in Akwa Ibom.”
Addressing political dynamics, he cautioned against divisiveness, stating that political parties should be platforms for contest, not conflict.
“I have received quality counsel not just from the PDP, but also from the APC, IPAC, and leaders across the state. We are all stakeholders in the progress of Akwa Ibom, and I am proud of this spirit of togetherness.”
Governor Eno also expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for federal policies that have improved state revenues. He encouraged residents to support the president’s efforts and potential second-term ambition.
Delivering the sermon at the service, Rev. (Dr.) Sylvania Ukafia of Insight Bible Church, Uyo, encouraged attendees to remain steadfast in faith, reminding them of God’s ever-present help in life’s trials.
The service featured worship sessions, hymns, choir ministrations, and special prayers, attended by dignitaries, faith leaders, and citizens celebrating the administration’s second anniversary.
