NSCDC Commandant-General Ahmed Audi Retires

Ahmed Audi has retired as the Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) after reaching the official retirement age.

He officially stepped down on Friday, the 27th of February, 2026, coinciding with the 2026 World Civil Defence Day celebration at the NSCDC headquarters in Abuja.

Recall that Audi took over as head of the corps on the 1st March 2021, following his appointment by former President Muhammadu Buhari. The Federal Government has not yet named his successor.

Born on the 30th of September 1967 in Nasarawa State, Audi holds a PhD in Public Administration from Nasarawa State University, Keffi.

He also earned a master’s degree in Public Business Administration from the University of Calabar and is a member of the National Institute (mni).
