NSCDC deploys 2,300 personnel for Salah celebrations in Oyo

Nigeria Security Civil Defence  Corps, Oyo State Command, has deployed 2,300 personnel across the state for security of lives and property during and after the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.

State NSCDC Commandant, Iskilu Akinsanya, urged the people of the state to pray and protect themselves and embrace peace as a way of upholding the unity of the country.

 Speaking at the Command’s state headquarters, Agodi Ibadan during the visit of Muslim Community of Oyo State, Nigeria to his office, Akinsanya enjoined the Muslim faithful to celebrate moderately and take responsibility against the spread of coronavirus through the use of face mask, personal Hygiene and observance of physical and social distancing.

 â€œLet’s continue to pray and protect ourselves, embrace peace in all ramification as a way to uphold the unity of the country as Muslims all over the world celebrate Eid-el Kabir celebration”, he said.

Akinsanya also called on all Area Commanders, Divisional Officers and personnel of the Corps to beef up security in their vicinity before, during and after the festive period as Muslims will be celebrating this year Eid-el Kabir.

He also directed the Disaster Management Unit to always have the Command ambulance and disaster personnel on highways for rescue during the celebrations.

He added that the Agro Rangers Squad and the Counter-Terrorist Unit have also been deployed to all the nooks and crannies of the state to prevent crime and criminality during the Salah Festival.

Akinsanya appealed to parents and guardians to monitor the activities of their children and wards.  

He advised Nigerians to be law-abiding and shun any act of lawlessness and violence during the celebrations, adding that they should also to be conscious of their environment and remain vigilant at all times.

He also called on Muslim Communities to be security conscious and assist NSCDC with credible information.
